Greenfield council adopts emergency appointment for fiscal officer as auditor flags 2021 reconciliation

Council voted to suspend the three-reading rule for Ordinance No. 8-2026 and then adopted the ordinance; the formal adoption was recorded with members Ernst, Mobley and Weaks voting in favor.
The adoption installs the fiscal officer role and sets terms and compensation under the ordinance text. Council did not elaborate further in the meeting record on the specific steps the Village will take to reconcile 2021 accounts beyond the Auditor's extension.
