County approves Laurel Canyon sewer grant, bridge inspections and temporary McNeal Road closure

Public Works Administrator Jeremy Myers presented the RD apply water and wastewater grant agreement for a Laurel Canyon sewer improvement. Staff cited a total project cost of $931,000, financing capacity of about $734,000 and a grant amount of approximately $197,000; the commission approved the agreement and authorized the chair and deputy clerk to sign.

Bridge inspections and road closure: staff reported the county received a master agreement for 2026 federal-aid bridge inspections covering two bridges, with an estimated combined inspection cost of about $12,400 to be charged to the special bridge fund; the commission approved funding. Cal Valley Engineering requested a temporary closure of McNeal Road for geotechnical drilling associated with bridge replacement project 31C-5401-01; proposed closure dates were June 16–18, 2026, and commissioners approved the closure and the county’s plan to notify the public via Everbridge and Facebook.
