Premier Lakes reports algae and lowers compressor noise at River Ridge lakes

At the July 23 meeting Premier Lakes representative Bill Kurth reported routine lake maintenance results and noise mitigation steps for the Masters Lake aeration system.
Kurth said the lakes, preserves and dry retention areas "are in good shape" but noted seasonal algae growth. He said a cabinet installed around the compressor reduced the measured sound level at the site from 64 to 52 decibels and that plantings are scheduled for near-term installation.
Operations Manager Shane Willis said his lake audit found that although decibel levels improved, the aerator's "tone" remains an issue. Discussion focused on possibly moving the compressor and questions about easements. Kurth and staff will coordinate to evaluate relocating the compressor and will report findings at the next meeting.
Mr. Schultz summarized issues in Edgewater, including flooding and potential littoral plantings for Lake E4-A; the consensus was to delay planting Lake E4-A until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Condominium Association and Cambridge Management.
