Cabell County Commission approves $500,000 transfer to medical insurance, schedules telephone-tariff hearing

The Cabell County Commission met May 12, 2016, and unanimously approved a series of routine budget and personnel actions, including a $500,000 transfer from the General County fund to the county Medical Insurance fund.
The transfer, passed as part of County Budget Revision #15, was moved by Commissioner Robert L. Bailey and seconded by Commissioner Nancy Cartmill. The commission voted unanimously to approve the revision and the transfer.
The meeting also recorded several personnel reclassifications: Stephanie A. Rosier was reclassified to full-time EMT effective May 13, 2016, at a rate of pay of $14.9548 per hour; Jacob Graves was reclassified as a full-time telecommunicator retroactive to May 5, 2016, at $12.07 per hour. Both reclassifications were approved by unanimous vote.
The commission placed on record financial reports and minutes from the Pea Ridge Public Service District and accepted a letter from Sheriff T.W. McComas listing delinquent real estate and other taxes for fiscal year 2015.
In probate business the commission approved closing the estate of Barbara Kay Blankenship and discharging a $22,000 claim by Cabell Huntington Hospital after estate assets were reported at about $2,000. The commission also set a hearing for May 26, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. to consider removal of the personal representative for the estate of Anna Ruth Glenn.
Mike Davis, director of CCERC (the county 911 center), asked the commission to increase the county telephone tariff and warned that without additional revenue the center would be forced to cut staff. The commission set a public hearing on the tariff for May 26 at 10:00 a.m.
President Anne Yon announced a special service at Pullman Plaza at 7 p.m. to honor first responders and veterans, and adjourned the meeting at 10:47 a.m.
