The board disposed of routine business and a set of late items during the meeting. Commissioners approved the consent calendar by motion and voice vote, then took several personnel and lease actions.
A late agenda item authorized a four-year lease with Clawson Oysters for about 90 acres of county-managed oyster beds; the board clarified that Clawson had assigned part of its prior lease to another operator but retained roughly 90 acres under the new agreement. Commissioners expressed approval for continued oyster-harvesting operations.
The board ratified liaison approval to post and fill an outreach specialist position (paygrade 416) after staff presented an updated job description, and approved posting for three road-department positions: fleet supervisor, crusher operator and permit/specialist. Finally, following interviews of three applicants (Kaylee Marone, Sandra Staer, Linda Phillips) the board appointed Sandy (Sandra) Stafer as the library service district member representing Powers by voice vote.
