At its May 26, 2016 meeting the Cabell County Commission approved a series of routine administrative and fiscal items, including personnel hires, vehicle purchases, budget and journal entries, and minutes placement.
The Commission approved the purchase of two Chevrolet Equinox vehicles at the request of Assessor Irv Johnson. It certified the results of the 2016 Primary Election and approved a resolution hiring multiple per-diem emergency medical technicians and one full-time paramedic effective June 2, 2016. The hires and hourly rates were recorded in the minutes.
On financial matters the Commission approved reclassifying $500,000 as a General County expense, a home confinement Fund 8 journal entry, Special Funds Budget Revision Fund 26 #1, CCEMS Special Funds Budget Revision #4, and County Budget Revision #16. The minutes also placed on record the minutes from the April meetings of the Salt Rock and Culloden Public Service Districts.
Other non-routine items on the agenda were referred or tabled as noted: County Attorney William Watson recommended referring the Estate of Mary Elizabeth Naylor to a fiduciary commissioner, which the Commission approved, and the Commission set a hearing for removal of the personal representative for the Estate of Anna Ruth Glenn for June 9, 2016. Commissioners tabled the workers compensation renewal proposals pending comparable payroll figures from the vendors.
