The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of James Gilman from Seat 1 at its Aug. 27 meeting and outlined steps to fill the unexpired term.
Mrs. Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter; on a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly, the board accepted the resignation. The board discussed outreach to The Meadows neighborhood, including asking Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager to e‑blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and to solicit resumes or letters of interest prior to the next meeting.
Because this is an appointment to fill a seat for the remainder of the term (not an election), the board noted that the administration of the oath of office, required ethics training, Form 1 instructions and related disclosure requirements will be provided in a separate package for any appointee. The board deferred formal vote on an appointment at this meeting and asked staff to include candidate materials on the next agenda.
