River Ridge CDD adopts FY2024/25 budget and special assessments

The River Ridge Community Development District board unanimously adopted its fiscal year 2024/25 budget and imposed the corresponding special assessments at its Aug. 27 meeting in Estero and via Zoom.

District Manager Chuck Adams told the board the budget included scrivener errors; Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal had submitted corrections related to the “Street sweeping” description. After opening and closing a public hearing with no members of the public speaking, the board approved Resolution 2024‑07, adopting the budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024 and ending Sept. 30, 2025, as amended. “On MOTION by Mr. Blumenthal and seconded by Mr. Twombly, with all in favor, Resolution 2024‑07 … was adopted,” the minutes record.

The board also held a public hearing on Resolution 2024‑08, which makes a determination of benefit and imposes special assessments for fiscal year 2024/2025 and provides for collection and enforcement. District Counsel Tony Pires recommended opening the hearing; no affected property owners spoke. The board approved an amendment deleting references to “Exhibit B” and, on the same vote pattern, adopted Resolution 2024‑08. The minutes note both motions passed “with all in favor.”

Both measures were advanced by a motion from Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal and a second from Supervisor Robert Twombly; the record shows no opposing or abstaining votes. The adopted budget and assessment resolutions include authorization for budget amendments and standard severability and effective‑date language.

The board’s action follows staff review and minor corrections to the published agenda materials. Next procedural steps include posting the adopted budget and implementing the assessment roll as certified under the adopted resolution.
