The Pownal Select Board on Oct. 27 adopted updates to bylaws governing town boards and committees and approved a paid trial of agenda-creation software.
Town Administrator Becky Taylor-Chase said the bylaws adopted in 2021 lacked helpful procedural details; the revisions add a section on submitting agendas and minutes for posting and cite the state statute that guides the process. Chair Jon Morris said a four-day posting requirement is appropriate because that matches office open days. Selectperson Kate Day moved to approve the revisions; the motion passed 3-0.
On the software trial, Taylor-Chase said the platform makes meeting packets easier to navigate and allows links to be opened on phones. She described pricing as $50 per month for a single login or $100 per month for three logins; the board authorized spending up to $600 to cover the remainder of the fiscal year and discussed the possibility of expanding access to other committees. The motion to authorize payment carried 3-0.
The board asked staff to post revised bylaws online and to proceed with the subscription purchase.
