Pownal Select Board approves warrants, payroll, pole permit and minutes

Pownal — The Town of Pownal Select Board on Aug. 11 approved routine financial and administrative items, including two accounts-payable warrants, a payroll journal, the previous meeting's minutes and a county tax warrant, and authorized a conditional pole permit approval.
Selectperson Kate Day moved and Selectperson George Pottle seconded approval of FY25 AP Warrant #5 in the amount of $694.52; the board voted 3–0 to approve. Day moved and Pottle seconded approval of FY26 AP Warrant #6 in the amount of $282,687.93; the motion passed 3–0. Day also moved to approve Payroll Journal #61 for $9,322.54; Pottle seconded and the board approved 3–0.
Day moved to approve the minutes of the July 28, 2025 regular meeting as written; Pottle seconded and the minutes were approved 3–0. Chair Jon Morris read and moved to pay the county tax warrant; Selectperson Day seconded and the board voted 3–0 to pay it.
On a separate procedural motion, Chair Morris asked the board to authorize him to approve a pole permit pending the Road Commissioner's approval; Selectperson Pottle seconded and the board voted 3–0 to allow the conditional approval. Chair Morris said he would sign the permit after it was placed in his mailbox.
The board also reviewed a small audiovisual equipment purchase: Town Administrator Becky Taylor-Chase said a replacement TV, mount and part to reduce cords could cost about $1,000 to enable dual-screen presentations. Chair Morris moved to adjourn at 7:15 p.m.; Selectperson Kate Day seconded and the motion carried 3–0.
