The Pownal Recreation Committee on Aug. 19 unanimously elected Kathy Hogue as chair and reviewed the committee’s current finances and membership outreach. The committee convened at 6:30 p.m. with Ruth Hannan, Robin Hodsdon‑Morin and Taylor Steel (representing IMPACT) present; Heidi Richards was excused.
Kathy Hogue presented the financial report, saying the committee has $2,929.09 in its ledger account and $500 in the town account. The committee agreed to use the $500 town account to cover certain event expenses. Oaths for committee service were signed during the meeting.
A motion to elect Hogue as chair was moved and seconded; all members voted in favor. The committee agreed to check with excused member Heidi Richards about whether she still wishes to serve as co‑chair and to take a formal vote on that appointment at the next meeting.
Hogue reported outreach efforts to recruit additional volunteers. Amy Litterini had expressed interest at Community Day but had not responded to follow‑up emails; Julie Baird had also expressed interest but could not attend and will be contacted by Hogue. Members discussed continuing efforts to fill open seats and to solicit volunteers for event setup and day‑of operations.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. The committee indicated it will continue recruitment and governance business at its next scheduled meeting.
