Survey for Sweetser Road parcel still pending; commission to follow up

Pownal Conservation Commission members reported that most major town-owned parcels have current land surveys, but a survey for the Sweetser Road parcel has not been completed.
Commissioners said surveyor Mann (the minutes refer to him as "Jon Mann" in one place and "John" in another) provided an estimate on Nov. 29, 2023, with a projected completion date of Dec. 21, 2024, but the work appears not to have been finished. The minutes do not resolve the name spelling inconsistency; commissioners instructed Dick Hogue to contact the surveyor to clarify status.
Members discussed whether funds originally earmarked for a project that misses its timeline remain allocated; Matt Welch said the funds are still earmarked for that project and Kate Day agreed that was likely, but no formal fiscal action was recorded. The commission agreed to keep Sweetser Road as part of old business to follow up at the next meeting.
Separately, Matt Welch suggested asking the Maine Natural Areas Program to perform a similar natural-areas survey for Sweetser Road, and commissioners agreed that MNAP's preliminary assessment would be useful if MNAP will provide it at no cost.
