Council voted to enter executive session to discuss a personnel matter; the motion carried 4-0 with Councilman Tommer abstaining from that motion.
After returning from executive session, Mayor Procuk said Councilman Tommer had applied for a Service Department position and that the mayor would issue conditional offers to the top three candidates interviewed. He stated two offers would be lateral hires within the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) and one would be a new hire. Municipal wage guidance for a new hire was placed on the record: start at 75% of the top wage, increase to 80% after six months, and reach 100% after 16 months.
No formal appointment vote was recorded in the public minutes; Mayor Procuk said Council would provide updates after offers were issued.
