Pownal Conservation Commission approves minutes and elects officers; schedules Sept. 23 meeting

The Pownal Conservation Commission met July 23 at Mallett Hall and handled routine procedural business before turning to Old Business.
The commission approved the June meeting minutes on a motion by Bob VanMilligan, seconded by Kate Elders; the motion passed unanimously. Kate Elders moved to appoint Bob VanMilligan as chair of the commission; Wellens King seconded and the motion passed unanimously. VanMilligan then moved that Wellens King continue as secretary, a motion seconded by Elders and also approved by all members present.
Members discussed taking August off and set their next meeting for Sept. 23, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. Bob VanMilligan said he expects oaths of office to be available for members to sign and will contact Becky about timing. Bob reported he had presented a checklist to the planning board and asked the group to research model statute or boilerplate easement language used by other towns before the next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m. Minutes were submitted by Wellens King.
