Committee members discussed the regional nature of the purchase, identifying Logan, Swedesboro, Woolwich and South Harrison as participants in a regional review of the acquisition. The township administrator said the contract and financing plan were reviewed by financial experts and bond counsel, and that the documents include safeguards intended to protect the township from unanticipated price increases.
The ordinance was introduced on first reading; no final adoption vote was held. The committee did not specify a schedule for subsequent readings. The matter will return to the committee for further consideration and formal adoption at a later meeting.
