Council approves business license renewals, consent agenda and budget calendar

The Presque Isle City Council approved several routine licensing and consent items during its Sept. 3 meeting.

Licenses: Council approved a special permit for the University of Maine at Presque Isle for music and entertainment at 181 Main Street; marijuana license renewals for Chad Junkkins dba Northern Euphoria LLC (retail and cultivation at 11 Davis Street) and Jonathan Martin dba Cloud9 (28 Holton Road); and a renewal to Daryl Richardson dba Richardson Remedies Presque Isle LLC (719 Main Street). The council conditionally authorized a full malt and spirituous liquor license for Dana Cassidy of Shogun Japanese Hibachi and Sushi 150 LLC provided outstanding 2023 and 2024 property taxes are paid in full; staff said the city clerk is authorized to sign off after taxes are paid.

Consent items and budget calendar: Council approved corrected minutes for Aug. 6 and Aug. 20, approved warrants totaling $5,996,021 and reappointed Leslie Smart to the Presque Isle Housing Authority. Council also accepted the proposed 2026 budget workshop calendar as presented.

Votes: Most motions carried by unanimous voice vote; where recorded, the council's tally was 7-0.
