The Presque Isle Planning Board on Jan. 16 unanimously approved a site plan for UPS at 1355 Airport Drive that will expand the company's existing 11,000-square-foot warehouse with a 939-square-foot modular distribution center, add 27 parking spaces and require a new 12,000-square-foot detention pond for stormwater management, according to the board's minutes.
Lee Fly, representative for Powers Brown Architecture, presented the project and described the square footage, parking and stormwater features to board members. Tim St. Peter, deputy director of innovation and development, confirmed the proposal met the Land Use and Development Code's square-footage threshold that required Planning Board review.
A motion to approve the site plan, made by Tim Vernon and seconded by Richard Engels, was recorded as unanimous. The minutes note Chairman Bruce Roope did not vote on agenda items at this meeting because he had not yet been sworn in following his reappointment on Jan. 8, 2025. The board recessed briefly so members could sign the site design plans.
