Brooksville selectmen say town won’t subsidize public EV charger; user fees to cover operating costs

At a June–November series of meetings residents raised concerns about town support for electric-vehicle charging. Bobby Herrick complained that the town should not put money into a charging station; selectmen responded that no town funds would be contributed.

Minutes record operational details discussed by officials: the charging company will charge the town a $150 annual fee; the first-year costs will be covered from donated installation funds and future annual costs will be met from user revenue. Freida L. Peasley, town treasurer, was assigned billing duties for station revenue. Selectmen noted that future expansion would require additional capital, and some said future installations (by vendor policy) would require minimum batch installations (e.g., four chargers at once).
