Crane Lake road transfer moves forward after committee referral and public comment

Buckeye Lake’s Public Service Committee reported Oct. 27 that it discussed Crane Lake roadways and voted to send the proposal to general council for further consideration.
Resident and council member Don Cable (speaking from 315 Lakeview Drive) read a submitted comment urging the transfer of Crane Lake streets from the current private owner to the village. Councilors later thanked residents and a developer they described as cooperative during the transfer negotiations.
The committee also forwarded a budget proposal for new message boards to the Finance Committee. Councilors said they will continue to work on the Crane Lake transfer and related infrastructure matters at subsequent meetings.
