Buckeye Lake Village Council on Nov. 24 approved a Personnel Committee recommendation to increase village contributions to the employee Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), lowering employees' out-of-pocket deductibles without changing insurance benefits.
Personnel reported that current single coverage deductibles of $6,300 would be reduced to $2,500 under the new HRA funding approach, and family deductibles would move from $12,600 to $5,000. The committee recommended maintaining the employer/employee premium split at 85%/15% while adjusting the HRA contribution to offset deductibles. Council accepted the recommendation on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Council members emphasized that plan benefits provided by the insurer will remain unchanged and that the modification affects only village-funded HRA support. The Personnel Committee also referenced an ongoing wage study by ClemansNelson that identified some positions requiring future attention; the committee will continue to refine benefit and compensation proposals ahead of the 2026 budget process.
