Gregg County commissioners approve multiple water-line permits and preliminary plats to support new housing

The court granted Liberty City Water Supply Company permission to bore and install a 2-inch water line with a 4-inch casing at 225 Spokane Street to serve two new homes. A city representative, Mr. Sherwood, said the area is seeing heavy building activity, noting, "82 houses." Commissioner Wingo moved to approve the request; the motion passed by voice vote.
The court also approved TR Road Special Utilities District’s request to install approximately 850–890 linear feet of 8-inch water line along North Ridge Road and one service bore at 326 North Ridge Road; Toronto Road Special Utilities District’s plan to install about 920 feet of 6-inch main within Lloyd Court/Circle, including a road bore crossing; and West Greg Special Utilities District’s plan to place a 2-inch PVC casing under Ronnie Brown Road to serve a private meter roughly two miles north of the Ace King Road intersection. Each request carried on motion and second by members of the court.
On land-use items, the court approved an amendment to the final plat of Cedar Ridge subdivision to split one property into two sublots so one parcel can accommodate an additional house. The court also approved preliminary plats for Legacy at Pine Ridge (preliminary review to precede final plat), Cardinal Estates (59 lots), Redird Estates (12 lots), and Liberty Oak (six lots). Commissioners noted drainage and engineering reviews will continue before any final plat approvals.
