Fire chief highlights free CPR classes, new investigator certification and new fire truck

Chief Price said the department will offer two free CPR classes, on June 25 and July 16, open to residents and nonresidents, and emphasized local capacity to respond when bystanders are trained. “that’s why we want to teach more people involve CPR,” Chief Price said, adding that the department will not turn people away.
He also announced that engineer Russ Kelly is now certified as a fire investigator and that Matthew Merritt is certified to teach EMR courses in‑house, reducing the need to outsource training. Chief Price invited council members to view the new fire truck after the meeting.
