Silver Lake hears updates on Enbridge work, withheld invoices and street projects

Clerk-Treasurer Sean Housley said Enbridge had rejected two invoices and was holding two others totaling about $60,000 because the company now requires daily OHM logs to accompany invoices. Housley said the daily logs have been provided and the invoices resubmitted; OPM Engineer Jason Popiel clarified the delay stemmed from a new Enbridge policy change rather than a dispute over work validity.
Popiel reported that the Silver Lake Boulevard design has been sent to utility companies for review; once utility feedback is received, OPM will meet with Service Director Ben Gregory to review design details. Popiel said OPM is awaiting OPWC scoring and information on federal funding opportunities (applications open in April) and that he had met with the office of Congresswoman Emilia Sykes to discuss the project. He also said Enbridge intends to replace a gas main next summer in areas just north of Silver Lake Boulevard, on Bellaire and nearby streets; formal plans had not yet been submitted for village review.
Clerk Housley also requested an extension for the Markle Drive sewer over/under project through May 31 to allow paperwork completion, and reported the Harriet Road project is substantially complete pending a final walkthrough.
Next steps: OPM and village staff will continue utility coordination on Silver Lake Boulevard design, monitor Enbridge plan submissions, and follow up on the resubmitted invoices.
