Winter Harbor manager reports possible marina transfer, vandalism at scout cabin; residents praise benches and ask about taxes

Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told the Winter Harbor selectmen on May 4 that a potential buyer for the marina has emerged and that the buyer may turn it over to the town.
Liscomb also reported facilities work: the gym’s water heater was replaced after rusting out and leaking; a scout cabin was broken into and vandalized, doors were secured and staff are working to restore electricity so cameras can be installed; a dumpster was delivered and cleaning of the garage, gym and fire house has started; and fire trucks have pump testing scheduled for Saturday.
Liscomb said the Town Report is finished except for the cover and will be made available at the June 9 election after printing. She also noted upcoming office schedule adjustments: the Town Office will be closed Friday, May 8, and will open late Wednesday, May 13.
During public comment, R. Littlefield said the benches look “great and inviting” and asked whether the large amount of taxes still due was normal. Selectman S. Fortin asked that check amounts be placed on future agendas.
