Winter Harbor selectmen approve warrants and reports; CD renewal deferred

Chair G. Harrington presided as the board approved the Special Town Meeting minutes of April 22 and the Selectmen meeting minutes of April 22, 2026, each by a 3-0 vote, and approved Warrant #50 (April 28) and Warrant #51 (May 1). The payroll warrant (#50) was listed at $16,390.35 and accounts payable (#51) at $129,055.07, for a combined total of $145,445.42.
Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb presented the Treasurer’s Report dated May 1, 2026. Reported balances included a Trio-General Ledger balance of $1,131,686.20, a six-month certificate of deposit at $107,539.29, and investments in bonds at roughly $2,872,650.00 (market value). The board accepted the report 3-0.
The Tax Collector’s Report, also dated May 1, 2026, was accepted 3-0. Taxes receivable were reported as $342,681.50 for fiscal year 2026 and $13,690.19 for fiscal year 2025.
Regarding short-term investments, the board agreed to postpone renewing a certificate of deposit until members could compare the CD’s interest rate with that of the town’s sweep account. That decision was recorded as a delay pending rate comparison rather than a final renewal.
The board also approved and signed the warrant for the upcoming Town Meeting.
