The Maine School Administrative District No. 19 (Lubec) School Committee unanimously approved three service contracts for the 2024–25 school year at its Aug. 1 meeting.
The board awarded the heating fuel and propane contract to Dead River Company at $2.78 per gallon for heating fuel and $1.49 per propane unit. "It was moved by Wanda Reed, seconded by Jane Lanctot, and voted unanimously to award the heating fuel & propane bid to the Dead River Company at $2.78/gallon for fuel and $1.49/unit for propane," the minutes record.
The trash removal contract was awarded to NoSo Disposal at $200 per month after a unanimous vote. The committee also awarded bus repair services to Gardner Parts and Service at $85 per hour for both preventative maintenance and major repairs. Those motions were moved by Wanda Reed and seconded by Jane Lanctot and carried unanimously.
Present for the vote were School Committee members Wanda Reed, Jane Lanctot and Richard Huntley Jr.; Deanna Newman and Joseph Swain were absent. The minutes do not record individual roll‑call votes beyond noting unanimous approval.
The awards finalize vendor arrangements for routine operations — fuel delivery, waste removal and vehicle maintenance — ahead of the 2024–25 school year.
