Silver Lake council adopts water/sewer rate change, approves appropriation bookkeeping and tables 2026 budget ordinance

At its Nov. 6 meeting the Village Council acted on several budget and rate items:
- Ordinance No. 76 (third reading) — Council approved amendments to Codified Ordinances sections 933.01 and 927.13 to increase consumer charges in the Water and Sewer Fund. No suspension was necessary on the third reading and the ordinance passed on a 7–0 roll call.
- Ordinance No. 79 — Clerk‑Treasurer Sean Housley explained the measure formalizes a noncash trade‑in as a 'gross‑up' so the Vacall trade‑in value is posted in the ledgers and offsets capital outlay; council suspended rules and adopted the appropriations amendment on a 7–0 roll call.
- Ordinance No. 75 (2026 appropriations) — Councilmember Suzanne Garrett moved to table the ordinance until Dec. 1 to allow the Clerk‑Treasurer additional time to update and review data. The motion to table passed 7–0.
Councilmembers said the appropriation adjustments were intended to make accounting for equipment trade‑ins clearer in the ledger and to give staff adequate time to finalize the 2026 budget."
