Town manager outlines grant work and flag program; public works report benches ready and dock repairs starting

Liscomb said the town received a Cole Transportation matching grant to purchase flags for telephone poles in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday; the flags will represent the birthday theme and will be installed on town poles under a matching-grant arrangement. She also said a scheduled budget meeting was missed due to an internet outage and a snow storm; that meeting will be rescheduled and the full budget will be presented at the next scheduled meeting.
R. Chandler, the town’s Fire Chief and Road Commissioner, reported that benches are complete and will be installed once snow conditions permit and that contractor J.E. Tracey is scheduled to begin dock repairs on March 10.
During public comment, S. Ribble asked: “Can we have links for services around the area on the town website?” and J. Jacobs asked: “Is it correct the investment account lost money?” The minutes record those questions but do not note an immediate answer in the meeting text.
Separately, the minutes note that Budget Committee members moved a meeting to the chartroom at Misty Harbor because acoustics in the Masonic Hall were poor for hearing-impaired members; when asked why the Town Office meeting room was not used, P. Drinkwater said there were “listening ears.”
