Northfield approves small drainage change order; schedules generator work and administrative building RFQ interviews

The Northfield Village Council on Nov. 8 authorized a $964.95 change‑order payment to contractor Eclipse to address thicker‑than‑expected residential driveway aprons encountered during the Sagamore Road Drainage Improvements Project.
Engineer Daniel Collins explained the change order was needed so the village could replace driveway aprons to the same thickness residents previously had. The motion to authorize payment was made by Councilperson Alan Hipps, seconded by Councilperson Kevin Lewis, and approved unanimously on roll call.
Collins also reported that new front windows for the 199 Ledge Road village office have arrived and will be installed on the coming Friday while the office is closed. A power generator for the 199 Ledge Road building is scheduled for installation on Nov. 16; the work is expected to take four to five hours and require roughly two hours of outage time for that building.
On the New Administrative Building Project, Collins said seven RFQ responses were received, four candidates were short‑listed, and interviews are scheduled for next week to continue the selection process.
Council did not record further public debate on these topics during the meeting; staff will proceed with the authorized payment and the scheduled generator installation.
