RSU 03 approves teacher contracts, records staff resignations and adopts updated grades 6–8 social studies curriculum

The board also approved issuing second‑year probationary contracts to Lzelle Bennett, Mariah Ross, Melissa Patterson, Leonard Nolton, Megan Hedstrom, Shelby Pearick, Amanda Pearl and Chanel Cobb. Continuing contracts were approved for Gregory Jud, Anastasia Brown, Andrew Olrich, Rea Laren, Susan Bloss and Brandon Elder. All motions passed unanimously.
Curriculum: Erica, speaking for the curriculum committee, described updates to the grades 6–8 social studies curriculum — work begun since the 2019 adoption was reviewed and adjusted to better align with standards and to prepare students for high school. The board voted unanimously to adopt the updated curriculum so it can be implemented at the start of the next school year.
Administration said it will track turnover reasons via an exit survey sent to departing staff and report findings when available.
