Roxbury — At their Jan. 27 meeting the Board of Selectmen set the town's 2026 property-tax interest ceiling at 7% and signed a warrant for $169,891.50.
Selectman Timothy Derouche moved that the town not exceed the state-allowed maximum interest rate of 7.0% for property taxes in 2026; Selectman Matthew Patneaude seconded the motion and it passed 3-0. Selectman Derouche also moved to nominate Renee Hodsdon for the 2025 town-report dedication recognizing her role as the town's first Town Administrator; the nomination was approved 3-0.
Later in the meeting Selectman Ray Hodsdon moved to sign the warrant totaling $169,891.50; Selectman Patneaude seconded and the vote was 3-0.
The board discussed other fiscal-adjacent items: approval processes for TIF projects will be reviewed closer, a town maps/revaluation vendor will be contacted for an update, and a licensing irregularity for Cog's Auto Sales was flagged with the Code Enforcement Officer and will be addressed in line with state statute.
The board's next budget meeting was scheduled for Jan. 28 at 1:00 p.m.
