Planning Board flags shoreland zoning language for legal review amid incoming solar project

The Planning Board chairperson told the Board of Selectmen that language in the town’s Shoreland Zoning Ordinance appeared unclear and could present problems for an incoming solar project. The chairperson asked for permission to consult the town lawyer to clarify the ordinance text.
Selectman Ray Hodsdon moved to pend the Planning Board’s approval while the board seeks legal review; Selectman Matthew Patneaude seconded and the motion passed 2-0. The selectmen instructed the office to notify them if the Planning Board reaches out to counsel.
The minutes also note the Planning Board ordinance certification and proposed changes will proceed to Town Meeting after the board’s review. The food truck ordinance remains under legal review and electrical paperwork for a separate food-truck proposal was reported as submitted with no immediate issues.
