Selectman Ray Hodsdon moved and Selectman Matthew Patneaude seconded a motion to adopt the Town of Roxbury’s 2026 municipal budget at $1,272,702.35; the board voted 2-0 to approve the budget and to forward accounts from 2025–2026.
The board accepted the 2026 annual warrant for Town Meeting by the same 2-0 vote and later signed the warrant for $130,802.81. The board also approved a bank reconciliation showing $735,664.06 (motion by Selectman Matthew Patneaude, seconded by Selectman Ray Hodsdon, vote 2-0).
As part of new-business budgeting discussions, the selectmen approved a $10,000 transfer from the town’s TIF account to the Operating account to cover expenditures for the boat dock; Ray Hodsdon moved, Patneaude seconded, vote 2-0. The board also recorded a clerical tax abatement of $52.15 for tax year 2023–24 on Map 3 Lot 7B (motion by Ray Hodsdon, seconded by Matthew Patneaude; vote 2-0).
Board members noted the town increased the annual transfer to cover resident discounts from $65,000 to $85,000 this year to help offset higher taxes related to the state valuation change. The board discussed the state valuation at 47 percent with a 10 percent grace period and noted the town’s auditor relationship will change after the 2025 audit; the current auditor flagged limits on performing full RFPs but said one-year RFP contracts remain an option.
The board returned from an executive session called under 1 M.R.S. §405(6)(A) at 7:30 p.m. and reported no action was taken. The agenda items were concluded with routine announcements about upcoming meetings including the Annual Meeting on March 15, 2026.
