The Roxbury Board of Selectmen met Feb. 10 and unanimously approved a series of routine town actions including contractor selections, license renewals and warrant items ahead of the annual meeting. The board also scheduled public hearings and advanced several small projects toward the 2026 town warrant.
Timothy Derouche, chair of the Board of Selectmen, moved to approve Michael Gallant for winter‑roads work; the board voted 3‑0 to award the contract. The board thanked Charlie Pappas for years of service to the town during that discussion.
The board approved a five‑year auto‑recycler/junkyard permit for Cog’s Auto Sales after the applicant paid the $250 fee and the board voted 3‑0 not to require a public hearing. The board also reviewed and corrected the treasurer’s warrant for Jan. 27, 2026, noting two small errors; a motion to adjust the warrant total passed unanimously.
Members discussed Tax Increment Financing (TIF) requests and 501(c)(3) questions raised by local clubs. Timothy Derouche moved to place three organizations—the Slippery Sliders Snowmobile Club, Roxbury ATV Club and Silver Lake Camp Owners Association—on the 2026 town warrant for TIF consideration; the motion passed 3‑0. The board noted that future TIF work will require formal quotes.
The board accepted a temporary food‑truck proposal for 2026 under a request that the operator run May 15 through Sept. 15 on Campground Road. The board recorded that the operator would be a sole proprietor for 2026 and that continued operations would need to follow any future food‑truck ordinance; the motion to allow the 2026 dates passed 3‑0.
On ordinances and policies, the board confirmed a Comprehensive Plan meeting for Feb. 12 and set a public hearing on the Planning Board Ordinance for Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m. A motion to move the subdivision, planning board and food‑truck ordinances immediately to public hearing failed 0‑3.
The board scheduled a bank‑resolution workshop for March 10 at 5:30 p.m. It also reviewed FEMA reimbursement transfers and voted to place warrant items to move previously reimbursed funds back into their intended accounts (Summer Roads, Watershed and Capital Improvements).
The meeting concluded with the board approving the Feb. 10 treasurer’s warrant for $44,886.48 and adjourning at 8:08 p.m. Upcoming hearings and meetings were announced, including the Planning Board meeting on Feb. 19 and the annual town meeting on March 15.
The board’s actions were procedural and unanimous; none of the votes reported in the minutes were contested.
