Roxbury selectmen approve fraud-prevention tools, equipment purchase and election appointments

The measure was proposed by Selectman Hodsdon and approved unanimously. The board also voted to adopt a check-scanner program to allow same-day electronic deposits and reduce trips to the bank; physical checks will be retained for 90 days before destruction, per the board’s direction.
In related business, Selectmen approved using a town credit card to purchase a new computer to meet CVR security requirements for planning-board records and other office functions. The motions to purchase the equipment and to adopt the check-scanner were moved by Selectman Matthew Patneaude and seconded by Selectman Ray Hodsdon; both passed 2-0.
The board appointed election officials for the calendar year: Renee Hodsdon as Election Warden and Brittany Gordon as Registrar. Both appointments passed by unanimous vote after motions from Selectman Hodsdon and a second from Selectman Patneaude. The minutes show the board directed Brittany Gordon to submit certain liquor-license paperwork online as part of administrative follow-up.
Selectmen set the date to reopen posted roads to May 11. The motion to reopen was moved by Selectman Patneaude, seconded by Selectman Hodsdon, and approved 2-0.
Finally, the board accepted warrant #5 in the amount of $22,213.79 by unanimous vote.
