Roxbury selectmen approve audit, tree work and warrant; tie vote delays snowmobile-club grant

The Roxbury Board of Selectmen handled several financial and administrative actions at its April 14 meeting.
The board voted 2-0 to accept a one-year audit proposal with a $14,300 base fee for the 2026 audit year.
Selectmen approved contracting Tom Watson to remove trees damaged over the winter for $2,400; Selectman Timothy Derouche moved the contract and Selectman Matthew Patneaude seconded the motion, which passed 2-0.
At warrant signing, the board approved payments totaling $52,953.66 and agreed to deduct $540 for CA Pappas (for moving winter sand), leaving $52,413.66 to be paid; the motion passed 2-0.
A separate motion to sign a Municipal Grant-in-Aid packet for the Slippery Sliders Snowmobile Club resulted in a 1-1 vote. The minutes record questions about whether Selectman Derouche—who filled out the application for the club—should have moved the item; the board decided to revisit the grant with the full board at a future meeting.
Other administrative items recorded: scheduling of a Subdivision Ordinance public hearing for April 28 at 5:30 p.m., review of town fixed assets, a Main Street paving start planned for May (pending insurance paperwork), and acceptance of surplus supplies offered by RSU 10 for the Town Office.
