Roxbury schedules summer roads work, unposts roads and issues RFP for stream restoration

The Roxbury Board of Selectmen reviewed its summer roads project list and set a workshop for May 13 at 2:00 p.m. The board voted to unpost Roxbury roads the following morning as a procedural step for road maintenance work; the motion passed 3-0.
Board members discussed winter-roads billing and a previously denied invoice for moving sand and salt, noting staff should check contract records and whether billed work was performed. The board confirmed Main Street paving is due to start in May with insurance in place, but a firm start date will be provided once the contractor is ready.
The board set roadside cleanup week for June 22–26 and voted 3-0 to put the work out to bid; staff will draft the solicitation for review at the next meeting. The Roxbury ATV Club reported on a recent roadside cleanup and sought municipal approval for a grant packet; the board voted 3-0 to sign the municipal grant and to appoint Toby Wells the project coordinator.
On unfinished business the board voted 3-0 to issue a request for proposals for restoration of three streams (Daniels Stream, Currivan Stream and Public Beach Stream) and will send the RFP to Pine Tree Engineering and Mainland. The board also noted ongoing follow-up on a retaining wall erosion planting and flagged a pricing discrepancy in Theriault stream engineering work for further inquiry with Pine Tree Engineering.
