The Board of Selectmen reviewed cost estimates provided by an engineer for grant application paperwork for two stream crossing projects: $1,000 for work related to Theriault Stream and $3,500 for the Gorham Stream. Selectman Timothy Derouche said the town has enough funds raised to cover the Theriault estimate but not the Gorham estimate.
Derouche moved that the town pursue the Main Street grant for Theriault at the $1,000 estimate and that the board ask about the $3,500 estimate for Gorham to understand the cost differential; the motion passed unanimously, 3-0.
The minutes do not record an engineer’s explanation for the higher Gorham estimate; the board directed staff to request clarification.
