RSU 20 administrators report stable opening, enrollment near 394 and curriculum work to publish grades 6–12

Superintendent Dr. Miller told the board the district’s total enrollment figures from last year showed 395 students (271 from Stockton, 102 from Stockton Springs, 22 from other towns) and that as of the first day of September the district was at 394 students.

Dr. Miller and administrators described a smooth opening of the year, professional development for staff, and transportation challenges for students identified under McKinney-Vento and other routes. She said "approximately 225 of our 394 students are being transported daily on six bus runs," and praised transportation staff for adapting routes and making extra loops to serve students.

Facilities manager Mr. Brady reported facilities work including a refinished gym floor and a heating project described as "like 98% done," with a target of keyless-entry installation by Oct. 1. Middle/high school administrator Mr. Bradford said the district is migrating curriculum documents now kept in Google Docs into Rubicon Atlas, with a goal of making grades 6–12 curriculum publicly available by the end of the academic year.

Bradford also noted an uptick of about 10 middle-school enrollments and highlighted athletics developments; he singled out student Alex Dacon, who qualified for nationals in competitive weightlifting with a reported 425-pound deadlift. Mrs. Cook updated nutrition services: grant-funded equipment, steady meal participation after an initial slow start, and plans for menu innovations and potential coffee service at the high school.

Administrators said they will provide a one-page enrollment breakdown at the next meeting and continue to refine transportation and staffing plans as the year progresses.
