Superintendent Laura Miller updated the board on district preparations for the new school year and outreach plans.
Miller said the district will hold a community open house on Aug. 25 and that community coordinator Jessica George has been distributing flyers and securing commitments from local businesses to participate. She reported facilities work — painting, vinyl siding replacement, grounds maintenance — and noted bus drivers have been assisting custodial staff to prepare buildings.
Miller provided enrollment numbers reported earlier in August: PreK–5 — 151 students; middle school — 111; high school — 109, for a total of 371. She described recent professional development focused on understanding student behavior and an administrative retreat intended to build capacity and coordination across principals and directors.
"I toured buildings and grounds with Mr. Brady...when we open schools, you'll see very healthy, safe and welcoming environments," Miller said. Board members asked for follow‑up about outreach results and for web posting of schedules and livestream links to increase transparency.
