During new business the board approved personnel moves and volunteer coach appointments and heard announcements of several resignations.
The board approved the transfer of Vicky Cox from grade‑5 classroom teacher to 7–8 ELA teacher and approved coaches and volunteers including John Fry (varsity baseball) and Josh Wright (varsity baseball volunteer); high‑school softball volunteers approved included Britney Golding, Jenna Keech and Sharon Keech. A brief exchange clarified the limits on public discussion of personnel (board may only discuss positions, not individuals) before votes were taken.
Board members moved and approved the appointment of Marie Maria Franklin as the high‑school counselor for the 2025–26 school year; the board had Frankin’s profile in the packet. Administrators also announced resignations that will require hiring: Matthew Walton (K–2 SPED resource room), Michelle Shepard (grade 3), Zachary Seldon (grade 5) and Chris McBride (high‑school math). The district said interviews are underway and a vacancy being filled that evening would be posted in the packet.
The motions were made, seconded and approved in open session; where vote tallies were unclear in back‑and‑forth floor discussion, the clerk confirmed the positions had been approved by the board.
