The Finance, Administration and Economic Development committee approved two requests on June 16 to purchase bucket trucks for traffic management and for facilities management from staff-approved vendors.
For agenda item 9 the committee approved the purchase of a LT40 or comparable bucket truck for traffic management; a motion was made, seconded and carried with no objections. Staff noted earlier quoted trucks had purchase orders that will be voided and replaced with new purchase orders at current quoted prices.
For agenda item 10 the committee likewise approved the purchase of a bucket truck for facilities management after members discussed account balances and availability of funds. Staff told the committee current quotes for the trucks are about $170,000 each, lower than an earlier quoted amount of $188,893, and reminded members the account received a $3,300,000 budget amendment earlier this fiscal year to move fund-balance resources into the purchasing account.
Both items passed without objection; no roll-call vote was recorded on the transcript. Staff said they will proceed with purchase orders consistent with the committee's approvals.
