RSU 12 engaged an engineer for its most recent submission; staff reported Polarmo's ranking rose from 17 to 11 compared with the previous cycle. "We get a scorecard basically and we get put on ... we get ranked," staff said, describing the DOE process.
The presentation noted that statewide funding buys fewer projects than in past cycles and that many districts submit only periodically; as a result, competition for the limited pot of money remains intense. Staff characterized the application as informational at this meeting and did not request new board action beyond awareness of the ranking and next steps in the rating cycle.
Staff said they will continue to monitor the DOE process and report updates to the board as the district moves through the application cycle.
