At its Oct. 27, 2025 meeting, the DeWitt City Council reviewed the Local Officers Compensation Commission report for 2025–2026 and took no action. The minutes state: "If the City Council chooses to reject the findings of the Local Officer Compensation Commission, it shall, within 30 days of November 13, 2025, adopt by two-thirds a resolution rejecting the report. If City Council chooses to 'No Action,' the Local Officers Compensation report recommendations will go into effect on November 13, 2025."
The minutes record no motion to reject the report. Because the council took no action, the commission’s recommendations are recorded in the minutes as scheduled to take effect on Nov. 13, 2025 unless the council later adopts the specified two-thirds resolution within the window described in the commission notice.
