Sheriff’s Office briefs board on staffing, boat and dispatch; executive session not held

An executive session concerning the contract with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office under 1 M.R.S. § 405(6)(A) was not held on April 21. Chief Deputy Curt Andrick used the opportunity to brief the Board of Selectmen on several operational items, including staffing levels, the department boat, dispatch staffing, jail matters, and statistics for Vinalhaven and the county. He said the County Commissioners were close to completing a contract review that would be returned to the Board for signature.
Sheriff Patrick Polky also spoke briefly about budget issues and encouraged the public to view the Joint Commission and Budget Committee meeting scheduled for April 23 at 5:00 PM on YouTube.
