Downtown project rebid planned after parking-lot bids deemed non-responsive; boat ramps nearing completion

Town Manager Marjorie Stratton shared a memo April 21 from Woodard & Curran indicating two parking-lot bids for the downtown project were received but judged non-responsive; staff recommended rebidding that contract. Gabe McPhail reported crews will continue work at a catch basin across from the commercial boat launch on West Main Street and will soon move work to the outfall beside Camden National Bank.
Work on boat ramps is nearly complete: McPhail said work is currently focused at the public launch on Main Street while a few more planks are needed to finish the commercial ramp at the Fish Plant. Staff noted a monthly community meeting the following evening would cover the water-main components of the downtown project.
Separately, in keeping with the contract renewal option, the board gave consensus authorization for Town Manager Marjorie Stratton to sign a renewal of the Mowing, Lawn Care, and Maintenance for Town Cemeteries and Other Town Properties contract with contractor Bruce Groening; the contractor requested no changes to the agreement.
