Vinalhaven approves $4.44 million municipal budget, adds $25,000 fuel contingency

Town Manager Marjorie Stratton told the board the recommendation for the contingency followed discussions with the Budget Committee about current fuel prices. Andrea Hogan proposed creating a common contingency line that could be used to supplement fuel costs as needed; Marjorie recommended placing $25,000 into that line based on current pricing.
The vote by the four selectmen closed the board’s review of the municipal budget figures presented at the meeting. No amendments beyond the contingency line were recorded. The board then proceeded to other agenda items.
