The RSU 12 board approved its consent agenda by voice vote after a motion from Monique and a second from De. The personnel report, which included hiring a life-skills teacher at Chelsea School, was pulled from the consent agenda, moved separately and then approved by voice vote.
The board also approved the district's budget timeline, which includes: department inputs in the district software through Jan. 10; a draft budget to the board in February (pending ED-279 data); the finance committee review; an anticipated board vote on April 10; a public budget meeting on May 21; and a referendum on June 10.
In a standing item, the superintendent summarized FY25 grants supporting operations and programs. He listed Title I at about $441,000, Title II-A near $69,000, local entitlement funding around $483,000, a competitive freezer grant of roughly $147,000 and assorted competitive grants totaling about $223,000. "That's almost 1.5 million in grant funds," the superintendent said, crediting staff for grant-writing work that has funded nutrition, literacy and other programs.
The meeting concluded with a motion to enter executive session, which the board approved, and a short recess.
