Town of Norwalk — The TIF committee approved an authorization of $3,300 to cover the year‑one setup and subscription costs for iWork, a permitting and code‑enforcement software platform staff said will be used to track permits, plumbing and building activity and to document land‑use violations with photos and timestamps.

Manager Richard Leell described the system as a combined permitting and enforcement tool that integrates property mapping and allows officers to capture photos and timestamps directly into case files. Staff said the recurring subscription is estimated at $2,000 per year and would be folded into the town’s code budget after the first year. Committee members asked about transaction volumes (staff estimated roughly 100–120 permitting transactions per year) and whether funding an applicant creates any precondition related to outstanding code violations; staff clarified that recipients must not have active code violations as a condition of funding.

A motion to approve the $3,300 authorization was made during the meeting and seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
