Acton Select Board adopts Access to Public Meeting and Agenda policies, approves routine appointments and permits

At its March 18 meeting the Town of Acton Select Board adopted two governance policies and approved routine appointments and permits.
The board voted to accept an updated Access to Public Meeting Policy aligning town practice with Maine's Freedom of Access Act and to adopt an Agenda Policy that requires proposed agenda items and supporting documents be submitted to the Town Administrator by 10 a.m. Wednesday to appear on that week's agenda. "Individuals who request an agenda item shall attend said meeting to answer any questions," the policy states.
The Select Board also voted to continue its contract with Sebago Technics for engineering services and approved a 60-day appointment of Michael Demers as Deputy Code Enforcement Officer/Deputy Local Plumbing Inspector while the Code Officer undergoes a medical procedure. Additionally, the board approved a pole permit for West Shore Drive (pole #98).
Motions on the Access to Public Meeting and Agenda policies, the Sebago contract, the appointment and the pole permit each carried unanimously.
